Alexandre Soares

Alexander Soares was born in Oporto. He concluded his studies in Portugal, then for a few years lived in Paris, London, Los Angeles and Lisbon.

Despite not having started his career as a photographer, early developed a passion for photography, to the point that as a teenager was already shooting with a 35mm SLR camera and had a small film processing lab.

He did not attend any training or specific courses in this area. All his knowledge comes from an immense curiosity that leads him to avidly read all the books on photography and different techniques that had at his disposal. He studied the great masters and mainly used the experimentation as a way to increase his knowledge. Therefore he considers himself a self-taught.

For professional reasons, takes contact with digital photography in 1992, when this technology was still in its infancy. For over 19 years he developed the technique of post-processing in digital studio.

During over 30 years of shooting, the themes of his choice have alternated between architecture, urban and rural landscape, sports, people (especially children), and more recently panoramic and HDR (High Dynamic Range).

In 2005 decides to embrace professional photography. Starts by combining photography and home decoration, producing images in large formats for wall murals.

He also makes architectural and product photography for companies, as well as graphic design.

He has several winning photographs, having recently won the first prize in the photo contest "Aircraft and Aces of Ares" sponsored by "El Corte Ingles" and "Canon".
