| A magnífica vila histórica de
Óbidos situada a 80 km noroeste de Lisboa, a poucos quilómetros da
Costa Atlântica, é um dos lugares mais belos e pitorescos da
Península Ibérica. Fundada pelos Celtas em 308 AC, Óbidos foi
conquistada pelos Romanos no século I e ocupada pelos Mouros no
século VIII, os quais construíram a muralha que ainda hoje cerca
completamente as suas casas brancas decoradas com faixas azuis ou
amarelas. A Vila medieval de Óbidos, com o seu castelo, igrejas e
monumentos históricos, beneficia de um clima temperado onde o sol
luminoso do Sul se junta ao ar fresco da montanha. O encanto natural de Óbidos, a tradicional hospitalidade dos seus habitantes e as delícias regionais da cozinha portuguesa com o seu peixe fresco e os vinhos da região fazem desta vila um ponto obrigatório no mapa turístico português. |

magnificent historical town of Óbidos, located some 80 km Northwest
of Lisbon, only a few kilometres away from the Atlantic Ocean, is
one of the most beautiful and picturesque sites of the Iberian
Peninsula. Founded by the Celts in 308 BC, Óbidos was conquered by
the Romans in the first century and occupied by the Moors in the
eighth century. The latter built the town wall, which still today is
completely intact surrounding the white washed houses painted with
blue or yellow stripes. The medieval town of Óbidos with its castle,
churches and historic monuments, is blessed with a moderate climate
where the warm southern sunshine mingles with a fresh mountain
breeze. The natural enchantment of Óbidos, the traditional hospitality of its inhabitants and the Portuguese regional culinary delights including fresh seafood and local wines turn this place into a “must” for any tourist visiting Portugal. |
