Master Classes 2010
The master classes are directed at professional level students, pianists beginning a career, as well as very motivated younger pianists.
The number of participants is limited to 40 students, without preliminary audition. Enrolments are accepted by order of reception. If necessary, teachers may hold auditions.
Students will be distributed among the teachers, taking into consideration their preference and the works they will be playing, as indicated on the enrolment form, although subject to availability.
Each participant has to present at least three works.
Pianos for study will be provided for active participants during at least 2 hours of daily study for each student.
Every student has the possibility of performing in a public concert, pending teacher approval.
The " Maria de Lurdes Avellar" Prize will be awarded for the most outstanding public concert performance. The Prize will be determined by a vote of the concert audience and the teachers of the master classes.
All participants will receive a course certificate.
Enrolment
The enrolment has to be made via e-mail using the enrolment form, available here and sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , together with a document issued by the bank proving that payment has been made. Please note that your enrolment will not be properly validated until full payment is confirmed.
Cancellation of enrolment is subject to the following conditions:
- prior to enrolment deadline: enrolment fees + 30% of class fee will NOT be refunded.
- post enrolment deadline: enrolment fees + 80% of class fee will NOT be refunded.
Payment by cheque not accepted. In the event of your registration not being accepted due to lack of availability, your payment will be fully refunded.
- The number of participants is limited. Applications to arrive before: 1 July 2010. Any payment after this date is subject to 10% extra fee.
815 € (100 € enrolment fee + class fee + triple bedroom accomodation)
840 € (100 € enrolment fee + class fee + double bedroom accomodation)
Includes:
- three individual classes with one or more teachers
- attendance of all courses
- a minimum of 2 hours of practice time per day
- free entrance to all concerts of the Festival
- lodging with half board
- transfer from Lisbon airport to Óbidos and back
- a half day sightseeing visit
- Single rooms also available. There are only three triple rooms available!
